Researchers

This project is designed to employ a Community-Engaged Participatory Research approach. This means the individuals that live and work in impacted counties are partners and participants in the research process.

Facilitation of the project is guided by faculty at the University of Montana.

Community-Engaged Participatory Research (CEPR)

Community-Engaged Participatory Research (CEPR) engages those who are affected by some community issue, typically in partnership with those who have research skills and expertise, to undertake study and analysis of the issue. The goal of CEPR is ultimately to co-create strategies and solutions to address the issue. Simply, CEPR shifts research from being done to people, to research being done with and for people. Research data and results in CEPR come from and go directly back to the people who can make the best use of them.

The University of Kansas Community Tool Box is an excellent source to learn more about Community-Engaged or Community-Based Research.
